Brian Luckman honoured by Parks Canada

On September 8th, 2019, Parks Canada dedicated a bench in Dr. Brian Luckman’s honour at Mount Edith Cavell in Jasper National Park. The plaque on the bench reads as follows: “The Lucky Bench. Recognizing the work of Dr. Brian Luckman. Since 1968 his research and interpretation of this environment have enriched our understanding of the Canadian Rockies.” Read more

"The Human Element" - Screening and Panel Discussion featuring one of Geography's own

Hyland Cinema's is hosting a free community screening of The Human Element; an insightful documentary by environmental photographer James Balog, which captures the lives of everyday people on the front lines of climate change. Western Geography MA student appointed TGAO Board President

The Town and Gown Association of Ontario announced the appointment of Alexander "AJ" Wray to Board President. AJ has been an active member of the town and gown community in Ontario for several years, serving as Chair of the Board for the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association from 2015 to 2018 and a Policy Advisor with the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance. He is now undertaking a graduate degree in Geography with the Human Environments Analysis Lab. Read more
